Symptom

It will hang during shutdown or when restarting the unit.

It will NEVER turn off.

Need to hold the power button for 5 seconds to force the Notebook to shut down.

Solution

Uninstall the Acer CrystalEye webcam driver

Cause

The Acer CrystalEye webcam Vista driver is not compatible with Window XP
